Critique Competition! (www.thesanitypatrol.com) deadline 12/31/12
The story arc is a way of describing the path of the plot — a term popularized by the film industry. Think of a wave generated by a current beneath seemingly placid water, forcing the water to rise until it crashes, revealing the turbulence beneath.
Writing has its own arc, although the path may vary for each writer. A more trusting and effective relationship evolves when a critiquer engages the writer during the rise.
