Critique Speak

Critique Competition! ( deadline 12/31/12

Creativity brings out the very best and sometimes the very worst in the creator.  The greater the conflict between collaborators or critiquer, the more important it becomes to find resolution. Pollyana passive-aggressive behavior is typical in these times, and ultimately destructive. Most authors come up against their own resistance at some point in their process, and turn irrational, often resulting in negative behavior. But that’s part of the creative process. Allowing an author to move through their emotional volatility until exhausted is an opportunity to build trust and intimacy. Forget trying to be nice or allegedly professional, ignoring these outbursts. The author needs more than that — and so do you.
